Zhouzhuang, 40km southeast of Suzhou is basically a town dominated by water? It is enclosed by four lakes and is intersected by several rivers within its boundary, with houses and streets built on the riverside twin bridges and Fu'an Bridges are the most renowned of its 14 bridges. Over 60 percent of the residential buildings in Zhouzhuang belong to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Shen Family Hall and Zhang Family Hall are two of the most famous ones. Other scenic attractions include the Quanfu temple, Chengxu taoist temple and South Lake. The local customs and local delicacies typical of a water town also tempt visitors.
