Tongli town a beautiful water town, was praised as "the basement of producing the film and TV", " oriental venice" and "Ming and Qing Dynasty Architecture Museum for its typical water-based landscape and unique culture resources.
In 1981, approved as Tongli sport of National Taihu Lake showplace by the State Department.
In 1982, listed as the only provincial level relics protection town by Jiangsu Province.
In1995, approved as the first batch of historic and cultural government town by jiangsu province government. Since November 2000 tuisi garden has been inscribed on the World heritage list by UNESCO. In june 2001 tuisi garden was listed as cultural relics of national importance. |
