This is a narrow peninsula by the Taihu lake, on which 17 of the lake's 72 peaks are found.
Dongshan (East Hill) boasts natural scenes and man¡-made attractions built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Dongting oranges and Biluochun tea produced on the peninsula are widely known.
Lingyuan Temple,where 1500-year-old luohan pinesgrow, is a major attraction on East Hill. The carved Tower in Dongshan Town is also songthing that should not be missed. The building is an excellent architectural work that has blended the carvings of brick, stone and wood all in one. Other scenic spots include Yangwan bay, sanshan Isle, Xi family Garden, Dragon Head Hill and Zijin Nunnery. |
