Invitation Letter from the APMC2005 General Chair for Industry Exhibition
The seventeenth Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC'2005) will be held in Suzhou , which is located in the Yangtze Delta of China , in Dec. 4-7, 2005.
APMC is one of the most renowned international microwave conferences. The first APMC was held in India in 1986, then the second one succeeded in Beijing , China , in 1988. Since then, the conference was held every year among the Asia-Pacific countries one by one. As the largest international microwave conference in the Asia-Pacific region, APMC has been widely supported by the academia and industries of microwave, wireless and correlative areas. Similar to the other international microwave conferences, the industry exhibition will be held simultaneously in APMC'2005, which will be a good chance for the academic-industry intercommunion. In the past APMC, the exhibition has always attracted many companies. For instance, there were more than 400 companies joined the APMC held in Japan in 2002.
Along with the rapid development of wireless communications, network, and sensing techniques, the microwave technology is combined with other subjects more closely now. On the other hand, the system and applications have increasingly become the hot points of the microwave international conferences. For this reason, the industry exhibition also attracts many system and application companies.
The coming APMC'2005 will bring a great chance for the microwave community in China . The microwave branch of the Chinese Institute of Electronics has paid much attention to the conference. Now we have already founded each special organization, fixed the venue, put out solicit articles information, and propagandized it through every possible ways. The preparing work of the conference is going on wheels now. The members of the committee come from the microwave branch, the antenna branch and other correlative branches, including universities, academic institutes and industry corporations from different areas.
Suzhou , a famous culture city with more than 2500 years history, has beautiful landscape, abundant civil and nature resource and two of the four most famous Gardens in China . The 28 th World Heritage Committee was held here in 2004. The government of Suzhou devotes a lot in the city's construction. You will find everything new and fresh in such a city with both Water Country feature and modern style. It is also rapidly becoming a new pattern industry city. There are a lot of high-tech corporations on electronic and information industry in the Industrial Park and New District. Many famous electronic corporations including microwave and correlative areas from China and other countries have settled here, which forms a full industry chain from parts to system.
The distance from Suzhou to Shanghai is less than 100 km , and there are many available highways between the two cities besides the railway. There are also highways to Wuxi and Hangzhou .
APMC' 2005 in Suzhou will surely attract a large numbers of scholars and industry companies from China and abroad, and becomes a quite large-scale international conference.
